Welcome to Better Diplomacy. This blog was created by a mannerly bunch in order to bring some much needed diplomacy to contentious world affairs. In other words, no celebrity gossip here. Instead, we’ll interpret breaking news stories as well as those that are lacking coverage in light of how they relate to bad/good/in-need-of diplomatic strategy. From time to time, we’ll rate world figures on our “Diplometer” in order to see who’s a true leader and who’s simply divisive. We’ll also have “Ask the Diplomat” segments in which I’ll field your questions as well as scenarios of my choosing and then write the proper corresponding diplomatic responses. As with all things diplomatic, the journalism will be intellectual and we here at BD headquarters encourage serious comments and dialogue.
